Lauralyn Kofford

Co-Director of “Miss Drill Utah” pageant and the “The Studio Solo Championship”

Lauralyn has lived here in Utah since the age of 11. Her younger years were spent living in Albany, New York. It wasn’t until she moved to Utah that she really ‘fell in love’ with Dance!! She immediately knew that Dance was going to become her career in life. After graduating high school,

Lauralyn attended Brigham Young University on a dance scholarship where she was a member of the acclaimed “Cougarette” Dance Team. Lauralyn also went on to “cheer” at BYU for three years. Lauralyn graduated from BYU with a Bachelors Degree in Dance Education and a minor in Health and Fitness.

Lauralyn is a well known choreographer and dance instructor. She has over 30 yrs. of experience in all styles of dance and choreography. She has been trained by the very best dance professionals from across the nation. She taught high school dance for 12 yrs. serving as the Dance Department Chair, Dance Company Director, and Drill Team Coach.  Lauralyn’s choreography has won many awards over the years and includes such events as… the annual 4th of July televised “Stadium of Fire” show, the “Miss Rodeo America” Pageant, the 2002 Winter Olympic Games Opening and Closing Ceremonies, Commercial choreography, Bowl game halftime shows, and many State and National Championship Dance/Drill Team, Studio, and Solo competition routines.

Along with being Co-Owner of The Studio Solo Championship, Lauralyn is the “Event Coordinator” for Dance America. She directs and teaches several dance camps throughout Utah and Idaho. She, also, directs Utah’s BEST Hip Hop workshop known as “Rap It Up”!! Lauralyn has served on the Board of Directors for the “Utah Dance Judges Association” and has been a certified State and National adjudicator for 20+ yrs.

Lauralyn is also very passionate about Fitness and exercise. She is currently a Fitness Instructor for VASA Fitness teaching many different fitness classes including Power Pump, Kickboxing, Dance Cardio, Step & Tone, and Silver Sneakers. She believes that dance and exercise keep a person healthy and happy forever!!!
